Who We Are

Sickle Cell Unlimited (SCU) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on breaking barriers, eliminating stigma, and empowering individuals affected by sickle cell disease.

Meet The Founder

Phillip Sanders, born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a devoted husband, father, and respected community leader. He is also a Sickle Cell Warrior whose life journey reflects resilience, faith, and determination.

Throughout his life, Phillip has survived countless Sickle Cell pain crises and undergone various forms of medical procedures, including a bone marrow transplant in 2019. These life-altering medical challenges at times left him unable to maintain traditional employment, highlighting the harsh realities many Sickle Cell Warriors face when persevering in the workforce while managing chronic illness.

Motivated by these experiences and the lack of financial and entrepreneurial resources to the Sickle Cell community, Phillip founded Sickle Cell Unlimited, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to Sickle Cell awareness, advocacy, and entrepreneurial empowerment. The organization was created to break barriers, build independence, and redefine what success looks like for individuals living with Sickle Cell disease and their caregivers.

Phillip strongly believes that Sickle Cell warriors deserve more than survival; they deserve opportunity, ownership, and financial freedom. Through education, mentorship, and access to resources, Sickle Cell Unlimited empowers warriors to become entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders within their communities.
